Audi A3

The Audi A3 began production back in 1996 and, after being previewed by theA3 Concept, is preparing to enter its third generation sometime in the middle of 2012. The new model will be slightly larger than the current model and will be offered in both hatchback and sedan versions. Audi hopes the sedan will take off in the US market, where hatchbacks aren’t as readily accepted as in Europe. Depending on the market, the new Audi A3 will feature both petrol and diesel engines.

The new Audi A3 will be built on Volkswagen’s new MQB platform and will be slightly larger than the current model. Depending on the market, Audi will be offering a choice of six engines, both TSI and TDI, all of them with an improvement of 20% in terms of fuel economy. In the upcoming years, Audi will be also offering a hybrid and even an electric version of the car.

The new Audi A3 will be offered in two body versions: hatchback (three and five-door versions) and sedan, all further identified by unique design features. When talking about the next A3, Audi’s design boss, Stefan Sielaff said: "Three-door cars will be more compact and sharper in design, while the four-door will have different dimensions and detailing around the car – it’ll be a sporty, peppy design with a sexy back end!"

AutoExpress has revealed new details on the next generation Audi A3 set to be unveiled in early 2012. According to the British magazine, the A3 engine line-up will include 1.2, 1.4, 1.8, and 2.0-liter turbo petrol units delivering between 105bhp and 210bhp, as well as 1.6 and 2.0-liter TDI engines producing up to 170 HP. All-electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions will also be launched in 2013.

Audi RS3 Sportback 2.5 TFSI

German tuner, MTM, has decided that even the most powerful A3 in Audi’s line-up can be improved significantly. Their new package based off of the RS3 Sportback 2.5 TFSI provides the sports hatch with a drool-inducing boost in power and some signature coloring.

Getting the RS3 to a level of supremacy took a series of high tech components, including a modified turbocharger that gives the engine a high-powered air supply. This turbocharger is teamed up with modified spark plugs that ensure the optimal firing of the combustion chambers and a new exhaust system specifically tailored to suit the different power variants. Final counts come in with an output of 472 HP, up from the RS3’s standard 340 HP.

A jump of 132 HP is nothing to shake a stick at so nothing else needed to be done for the Audi to shine. Of course, it was mandatory that MTM splash theircustomary exterior color combination of black, orange, and white just in case the home of this package was questioned.

Pricing for this package comes in at 10,600 Euro - or about $14,100 at the current exchange rates.

Audi R8 Carbon Edition 2011

Audi has unveiled a special edition R8 for the Australian market. Called Carbon Edition, the new R8 will be available in both V8 and V10 versions in both the coupe and roadster body styles. It will be limited to only 10 units with prices starting at $282,400 for the R8 4.2 FSI six-speed manual Coupe Carbon Edition and finding their way up to $407,200 for the R8 Spyder V10 5.2 FSI R tronic Carbon Edition.

As its name suggests, the R8 Carbon Edition will be distinguished by an exclusive carbon fiber styling package. Everything will be dressed up in carbon fiber including the front spoiler, rear diffuser, sideblades, exterior mirror housings, and door sills. The Audi R8 special edition will also receive an illuminated and black exterior package, and will sit on 19-inch wheels in a five-twin spoke design with a titanium finish.

Aside from the carbon fiber goodness, the Audi R8 Carbon Edition will be available in Ibis White, Phantom Black, Suzuka Grey, or Daytona Grey.

Audi R8 V10 Spyder By Mansory 2011

For all of their vast experience in the auto tuning world, Mansory has never built a project for the Audi R8. Sure, there have been Ferraris, Porsches, andMercedes’, but no Audis.

All that, however, is about to change since the German tuning company has brought their very first program for the Audi supercar. The package is actually for the R8 V10 Spyder, which will be introduced to Mansory expertise courtesy of cosmetic, aerodynamic, and performance upgrades.

Fresh off of the box are the aforementioned cosmetic and aerodynamic improvements, which include a new bonnet, a new front grill, side skirts, and a new rear bumper. There’s also a new front spoiler that provides more downforce, a new rear apron with an integrated rear diffuser, and a set of 20" lightweight forged Mansory wheels rounding out the physical modifications on the R8 V10 Spyder.

Mansory is also offering a comprehensive interior program for its customers. Depending on tastes and preferences, customers can choose to dress up their R8 V10 Spyder with a new leather upholstery with Mansory couture and carbon applications, illuminated door entry strips, and aluminum pedals and footrests.

Of course, making the car prettier is not the only significant part of this Mansory-tuned R8 V10 Spyder. There’s also the matter of the car’s 5.2-liter V10 FSI engine, which sees a significant performance upgrade in the form of a newly-installed sports air filter, and a news sport exhaust system. The resulting modifications give the R8 V10 Spyder a performance boost that takes an already powerful 525 horsepower all the way up to 552 horsepower, to go with an increased peak torque of 406 lb/ft of torque.

Audi R8 V10 S.W.A.T Edition By MTM 2011

The Top Marques Monaco isn’t just for luxury and super car automakers to display their newest creations; no, this event gets its fair share of tuning projects too. One project blindingly taking center stage in Monaco is this Audi R8 V10 by MTM. The German tuner took special care to prepare this sports car, S.W.A.T. style.

The Audi R8 V10 S.W.A.T Edition by MTM is based on the firm’s latestBiturbo version of the R8 that features a 5.0L V10 engine delivering an impressive 777 hp. This is just enough power to sprint the MTM R8 from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, from 0 to 124 in 9.37 seconds, and allow it to hit a top speed of 217 mph. This special Audi R8 V10 S.W.A.T Edition features a 100% chrome wrap combined with a S.W.A.T theme. Considering S.W.A.T stands for Special Weapons and Tactics, we’re thinking the Audi could be the team’s special weapon.

Of course, it would be impractical to drive this thing to any emergency situation, but maybe it can be a gift for agent of the year or something along those lines. Either way, it is a shining example of what a tuner can accomplish when wanting a vehicle to stand out amongst the more grandoise vehicles at the Top Marques Monaco.

Audi R8 V10 Biturbo By MTM 2011

Just a few months ago, we caught wind of a prototype vehicle parked outside of tuning company MTM’s headquarters in Germany. This prototype carried the name Audi R8 V10 BiTurbo and was rumored to pack crazy amounts of power underneath its capable hood. Fast forward to the present and that prototype seems to have developed into a full-fledged tuning package and is headed to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

MTM chose to use the 5.0L V10 engine used on their Audi RS6 Clubsport for this model as well, but the RS6’s 730hp rating still falls short of what MTM accomplished with the R8 BiTurbo. The R8 V10 BiTurbo is now capable of 777 hp and 888 NM of torque. Yep, 777 HP. With these updates, the MTM R8 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, from 0 to 124 in 9.37 seconds, and will hit a top speed of 217 mph.

The engine wasn’t all that was changed though. To get that shiny, mirrored look on the sports car, MTM completely removed its paint and polished it up real nice which took over 700 working hours. An adjustable rear spoiler, a front lip, and MTM Bimoto 20 inch forged rims were also added, as well as some leather on the inside of the R8.

Now that MTM has dazzled everyone with their impressive work on the R8 V10 sports car, we think it’s time to let everyone know that, in order to get this finger-lickin’, suped up Audi, customers will have to dish out $550,000. Yeah, you can pick your jaws up off the floor now.

Audi TT-RS Race Car 2012

The Audi R8 LMS has recently been tweaked to be able to enter in the 24H in Daytona, but that project isn’t the only thing coming out of Audiheadquarters. Say the R8 LMS’ price tag of 298,000 euro (about $420,000 at the current rates) is a tad too rich for your bank account, Audi has prepared an answer to your problems with the new TT RS race car. The new Audi racer will set racing teams back at €180,000 or about $250,000 at the current exchange rates, which isn’t exactly a bargain, but it’s cheaper than the R8 LMS.

The Audi TT-RS race car is powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine mated to a sequential six-speed racing transmission to deliver a total of 380 HP. Paddle shifters allow drivers to fully concentrate on the action on the race track, while the sophisticated racing suspension with a wide range of adjustment options improves the TT-RS’ handling and stability.

"In the TT RS Audi is making the next attractive customer sport race car available to interested teams," says Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. "In line with the products our customers have come to expect of us, the TT RS is another car that has been designed for a wide range of racing conditions and easy handling. The TT RS perfectly mastered the load at the 24-hour race while being able to prove its exceptionally forgiving handling characteristics at the 6-hour race in the unpredictable conditions of constantly changing weather."

Audi R5 2015

Volkswagen’s BlueSport concept left zero questions on whether or not it was going to go into production. In fact, Volkswagen announced that it would be available in three different production versions: one for Audi, one for Porsche, and one for Volkswagen, all of them offering different levels of luxury and performance.

Audi’s version will be placed somewhere in the middle, considering both price and performance, and will be aimed at those customers who want more than the TT, but can’t afford an R8. With an exterior design inspired by the recently launched E-tron concept, Audi’s model was rumored to be called the R4. However, new reports suggest that the future sports car will actually be called the R5, taking under consideration the fact that it will use a five-cylinder engine, and not the four pot reserved for the TT.

Audi will offer both coupe and roadster versions, with the roadster being a production version of the E-tron Concept. Expect an official debut sometime in 2014.

We were all eager to see the future Audi R5, or R4 as it was also rumored to be called, but the German magazine, Auto Motor Und Sport, reports that Audi has dropped plans to build the sports car. The reasoning behind this is that Audi was afraid that it would affect sales for models like the Audi TT and Porsche Cayman. Rumors also state that building the car might have had a very high price and it would have never been a profitable model. Bummer, that design and engine choice would have been awesome.

New details about the future Audi R5 sports car suggest that the car will also be offered in shooting brake style ’Sportback’ . The new R5 will differ from its Porsche and Volkswagen siblings "by boasting all-wheel drive and the Audi 5-cylinder turbo, which’d position it above the VW and even above the Porsche in pricing." Exterior and Interior
When launched, the Audi R5 will offer no surprises. We will basically see the E-tron concept adjusted for street use combined with design elements from models like the Audi R8. Expect Audi’s famous front grille with the four circles in the middle, headlamps with LED light, vertical air scoops on the sides, wide side sills, and different aluminum insertions.
For the interior Audi will offer the highest quality materials, leather sports seats, aluminum pedals, and more sports details.


The Engine
The future Audi R5 is known internally as the 9X1 and will share Volkswagen’s new ’MiMo’ (Mittelmotor) architecture with the other two BlueSport versions. Translated, this means the future sports car will feature a mid-engine configuration.

So, while the E-tron concept was powered by two electric motors, the production version will use a conventional engine. With the E-tron, Audi only wanted to show that they could develop electric cars, not that they wanted to. The only E-tron anyone will be seeing so far will be the R8 E-tron which will go into production next year.

We expect to see the same 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder engine from the TTRS, with output in the 350 HP area. We expect to see a 0 to 60 mph sprint time in around 4.5 seconds, while top speed will be limited to 155 mph (like any other German model).

The Competition
The R5’s main competitors will be the other two BlueSport models set to be released by Audi and Porsche. That makes no sense, but that’s a strategy the Volkswagen Group always applied. Take theQ7-Cayenne-Touareg off-roader trio, for example.

Previous rumors suggest that the R5 will also compete with the future Toyota FT-86. But Toyota wants to keep its model in the $20k area, so this will not happen. However, on the European market, the R5 will also compete with models like the Lotus Exige.

When Can I Buy One?
The Audi R5 will make its world debut in 2014, and customers will receive their first orders in 2015. Being placed between the TT and the R8, we expect to pay somewhere at $50k for the new R5.

Audi A9 2015

The current Audi line-up starts with the A1 and goes all the way up to the A8, but things are about to change as Audi is planning on a new luxury four-door sedan to be called the A9. It will be placed above the current A8 and will be the most luxurious and the most expensive model Audi has ever offered.

Next to the sport version of the A1 and the Q1, the luxury sports A9 comes as an attempt to allow Audi to become the "world’s premium brand, number one," as Audi said in a previous statement, and they are barreling forward with the new A9 as they target models like the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

However, with speed comes a high price tag. A car like this starts off at 100,000 euro (around $140,000 at the current exchange rates) so you better be packing some cash to deal with this heat.

Exterior and Interior
The future Audi A9 will be the most luxurious model ever built. It will combine design elements from the latest Audi models, like the A7 Sportback. The 2009 Sportback Concept is, of course, the direction Audi’s design language is headed, but the A9 will take it to a new level.
The biggest surprise will be offered by the interior. Expect to get the highest quality material, leather, wood insertions and Alcantara. Of course all the latest technologies will also find their way in there.

The Engine
For the engine line-up expect to see a 3.0 TFSI engine with around 300 HP for the base version, and a V8 with 500 HP for the top version. The hybrid, which is also a possibility, will combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor for a total of 500 HP.

The future Audi A9 will be built on Volkswagen’s new modular building block (MSB) platform that will be used for different models from Audi, Porsche, Bentley, and Lamborghini. This platform was already successfully used with the new Panamera, so Audi should be able to make a statement with it as well. The platform will give Audi the chance to build both rear-and four-wheel drive models.

The Competition
If Audi wanted to enter the high-end luxury market, the A9 is the model that will do it. Models like the Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche Panamera Turbo, or even the future Lamborghini sedan will have lots of reasons to worry.

When Can I Buy One?
The Audi A9 will go on sale around 2015 with a price tag of about $140,0000 so be prepared to dole out the cash for this rockstar.
